The wastewater from the pharmaceutical factory’s production process contains sodium sulfate and aluminum phosphate at concentrations of about 5%. This wastewater is to be treated using plate-and-frame filters, followed by concentration through reverse osmosis membranes; after the volume of the concentrated liquid is reduced, it is then sent to an evaporator. The question now is regarding reverse osmosis: is concentration feasible? Then, what issues need to be considered during the design process?
