Having read many articles on split-wall columns, I believe that choosing an appropriate system and using split-wall columns for distillation separation is theoretically entirely feasible, and it is also very economical and energy-efficient. But after reading so many articles, it seems that there are no such examples in China. Personally, I think it would be best to have a vapor distributor at the bottom of the partition wall; the vapor flow rates entering the main tower and the auxiliary tower are adjusted by using the partition wall to divide the cross-section of the tower into different areas, thereby determining the corresponding vapor flow rates based on those areas (although this approach might lead to instability) ； There should be a liquid collection tank at the top of the partition panel, but I’m not sure how to control the liquid flow rate; I hope everyone can help discuss this issue.
