What other good uses is there for the dry gas from the reforming unit, besides being used as fuel?

Our facility has a high processing capacity (1.2 million tons per year), and a large amount of dry gas is generated during the process; typically, this gas is burned off. We are considering collecting this dry gas and selling it to others for use in the production of propylene, but we’re not sure whether this is a viable option. Are there any other better ways to handle it?

It depends on whether your dry gas is suitable for use; if it contains few components with a molecular weight of C3 or higher, desulfurization followed by hydrogen production can be considered. If it contains a high amount of C3 compounds, coking or use in compressors before the absorption and stabilization system is an option, as separation can be achieved through absorption and stabilization
