In the control room of the chemical plant, in addition to the DCS computers, there are several computers dedicated to displaying interlocks; these are likely part of the SIS system. There are also some manual physical buttons on the adjacent consoles, which are used to trigger interlocks as well, such as for emergency shutdown of the heating furnace or the compressor. My question is: do these buttons belong to the SIS system? My colleague calls those buttons the auxiliary control panel; I don’t quite understand that. There’s also a computer nearby, as well as another computer dedicated to controlling the turbine unit. They say it’s called CCS. I’d like to ask what CCS stands for and what’s the difference between it and DCS
