What is the difference between a UPS and an inverter, and which is more suitable for a system?
A UPS contains an inverter. Under normal conditions, the mains power is routed through the UPS to supply power to the devices in use, while simultaneously charging the batteries. When the mains power fails, the electricity stored in the batteries is converted from direct current to alternating current by the inverter, which is then used to supply power to the devices
Simply put, UPS = rectifier + battery + inverter
