What are the typical materials used for the furnace tubes in heating furnaces, and what is the maximum operating temperature for them? Our facility is a continuous reforming unit that includes a four-in-one heating furnace as well as three cylindrical furnaces. What are the differences between the furnace tubes used in the hydrogen-handling system’s heating furnaces and those used in the distillation system’s heating furnaces?

The material of the heating furnace tubes is selected based on the temperature in the furnace chamber. There are various materials available for the furnace tubes in heating furnaces. The choice of material for these tubes depends on factors such as the designed wall temperature, the designed pressure, and the corrosive properties of the medium flowing inside the tubes; therefore, no general rule can be applied. The boiler tube standards listed for the 2nd and 4th floors are not generally used in heating furnaces; instead, GB9948 and ASTM standards are typically adopted. The maximum operating temperature of the furnace tube does not mean that existing heating furnaces can be used at this temperature. The maximum operating temperature of the furnace tubes in existing heating furnaces must not exceed the originally designed wall temperature of those tubes.
