Extraction of acetic acid from wastewater using extraction equipment (centrifugal extractors). Over the years, extensive research has been conducted on the process of extracting and separating acetic acid from wastewater generated by extraction equipment (centrifugal extractors), and many valuable results have been obtained. Among solvents of the same series, the shorter the carbon chain, the higher the distribution coefficient. The diagrams show typical process flows for the extraction and recovery of acetic acid solutions using both low-boiling and high-boiling physical solvents. Tianyi Extraction has carried out conceptual designs for systems that use high-boiling solvents such as amyl acetate, as well as low-boiling solvents like diisopropyl ether, diethyl ether, ethyl acetate, chloroform, and mixtures of ethyl acetate with benzene for the extraction and recovery of acetic acid solutions. The results show that although high-boiling solvent systems consume 30% less steam compared to low-boiling solvent systems, their overall cost is 30% higher.
