Finding alternative paths to survive, capital seeks ways to endure – let’s see how multinational gas companies manage to stay afloat in difficult times. Industrial gas suppliers are seeking new opportunities in the healthcare sector; large industrial gas suppliers such as Air Liquide in France have begun to launch services aimed at providing care directly at patients’ locations, in an effort to find new growth areas in the healthcare industry. Reportedly, due to reduced demand for gas in factories and the slump in oil prices that has hindered new industrial projects, French company Air Liquide, German company Linde Group, and American company Praxair have found that home care services for the elderly as well as for an increasing number of patients suffering from chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes are more profitable businesses. Linde Group currently serves 1.7 million patients at home, and believes that its global healthcare services market will double over the 10 years leading up to 2020, reaching 17 billion euros (equivalent to 20 billion dollars). Furthermore, some analysts suggest that the healthcare services provided by these companies could replace some of their industrial sectors. Taking Air Liquide in France as an example, its turnover from healthcare services has grown at an average rate of 8% since 2011; in 2015 alone, this growth rate was twice that of its industrial sector.
Traditional enterprises all need to undergo reform and upgrading, with a demand for innovative industries.

Liquefied Air does well in this area abroad; the conditions regarding medical benefits and the overall environment there are much better than in China.
