Oil carryover phenomenon in screw air compressors

Here, we have three screw air compressors that have been in use for over 3 years. They were maintained according to the prescribed schedule of every 5,000 hours, but this year, various problems such as oil leakage and oil contamination occurred even before the maintenance deadline had arrived. Is there anyone who can explain the reason? The air quality here is poor.

If the compressed air produced by a screw air compressor contains oil, it is usually due to poor separation efficiency; actions can be taken in the following areas: 1. Check the secondary oil return pipe to see if it is blocked. Does the length of the oil return pipe extending to the bottom of the oil change? (If there is a problem with the secondary oil return, usually there will be a pile of oil at the bottom of the oil separator.) 2. If there is no issue with the secondary oil return, then remove the cover of the oil separator and check whether there are any cracks in the mechanical separator, and whether it is in good condition ； 3. If it’s in good condition, usually only the oil remains; there are problems with the quality of that oil ； (Degraded air quality can lead to poorer quality oil, increased viscosity; high viscosity makes it easier for the oil to get clogged, resulting in higher pressure differences. High internal pressure can easily damage the oil.) Do you have your air compressors maintained by the manufacturer, or do you purchase the necessary consumables to carry out the maintenance yourself? ； It is also very important to note that long-term operation at low pressure can lead to oil leakage ；
