For a while, I thought I wasn’t addicted to smoking; it was true that I could smoke or not smoke either way. Around 2006, I tried to quit smoking for a while; I failed three times to stick with it. The longest period without smoking was over two months; at that time, I only had 5 yuan left on me. On my way to the cafeteria, I suddenly felt an urge to smoke; after some hesitation, I gave up eating and bought a pack of cigarettes instead. I used to smoke a lot while playing computer games – one pack every little while. Now that I’m married and have quit gaming, I smoke three cigarettes a day, and it feels really good.
Quitting smoking is indeed very difficult; I’ve tried many times without success – it’s just that I lack enough perseverance :L
Don’t quit; tobacco is the country’s biggest taxpayer. :lol
Actually, since it has been a habit for so long, there’s no need to quit it. Less or not excessive is an important control point. Don’t you see that most of the people who end up in the hospital are non-smokers??:)

Yes, I always advise others to smoke less and to quit smoking, yet I lack the willpower to quit myself. My journey to quitting smoking was similar to the original poster’s, but now I smoke one pack a day, at a steady rate.
