Recently, there have been frequent reports of elderly people falling; in some cases, no one dared to help them, and as a result the elderly people drowned; In some incidents, little girls who helped the elderly were falsely accused of being the ones who caused the accident ; In some cases, it was indeed proven that it was a little girl who caused the collision. (Please pay attention to recent reports in the internet or other media.) We will not discuss here the issue of whether to help an elderly person who has fallen. If you are a family member of an elderly person, what should you do when a little girl brings that person to the hospital?
2. The police’s judgment shall prevail. I once saw a report in a Shenzhen media outlet: Husband A and wife B knocked down an elderly person while riding their electric bike; a female driver C from a private car crossed one lane to check on the situation, and together with A and B, they took the elderly person to the hospital. The old man can’t remember; he doesn’t know who shaved it. A and B said together that it was C who did it, I swear to God! The police intervened, but A and B did not change their statements. Finally, the reporter confronted A and B in person with the video; guess what A said? “If we had this surveillance video and produced it earlier, wouldn’t there have been so many problems? ”The reporter countered, \"So without this video, are you going to deny it to the end?" ”

Girl helping an elderly person gets sued → Girl hits someone → Girl drives in the opposite direction; there is contact as the elderly person was on the motor vehicle lane → Girl applies for a review; the incident is not over yet
The incident of a girl from Laibin, Guangxi, helping the elderly. Girl helps the old lady → Family members suspect the girl caused the accident → Surveillance footage shows that the old lady was knocked down by another electric bike; the little girl acted out of kindness to help her → Family members apologize
Saving lives is the top priority; in any case, those who took the elderly person to the hospital should be thanked. Next, the police should be used to uncover the truth behind the incident, and only then can responsibility be determined.
It is right to help the elderly, but one must first take care of oneself. Help when there is sufficient evidence to prove one’s innocence. Now it is generally accepted that if you didn’t hit anyone, then why would you try to help them? This is used as evidence of whether an accident occurred or not; instead of the person making the claim having to provide proof, it is the person being accused who has to find evidence to prove their innocence. Therefore, it is very important to protect oneself. Another issue is that **the law does not provide any penalties for extortion; if one wins, they can exploit others to their advantage, while if they lose, they simply apologize and that’s it.** In the Peng Yu case in Nanjing, Peng Yu won the lawsuit but was still required to cover part of the medical costs, while Xu Shoulan lost the case for attempting to extort money. Yet they did not bear legal responsibility.
I am a family member of the elderly person. First and foremost, I would like to thank the little girl; if it turns out that she was indeed the one who caused the accident, no action will be taken against her, as it wasn’t intentional. Moreover, she went out of her way to take the elderly person to the hospital, which shows that she has a kind heart – many people probably would have run away in such a situation.
Saving lives is what matters; don’t worry about these trivial and meaningless arguments first.
Weren’t we supposed to set up a pension fund? With this, there’s nothing to fear
I can only express my gratitude. After all, even if it was someone else who caused the accident, not many people do so intentionally; it’s purely an accident. The fact that they managed to take her to the hospital means they did what needed to be done, and that deserves encouragement. I have doubts only regarding this statement: if it wasn’t you who caused the accident, then why did you go to help her and take her to the hospital? Being a good person isn’t easy in China

You were the one who caused the accident; let’s fairly divide up the responsibilities and those who are at fault should compensate. Encountered an elderly person who had fallen on the road; I don’t understand why one should help them If he can walk, he can get up on his own; if not, it’s useless to try to help him – the only option is to find a vehicle to take him to the hospital. As for me, of course I choose to turn a blind eye: it’s too risky and yields no benefits.
