Recently, an inspection team came to our factory for an inspection, requiring 100% magnetic particle testing of the A and B welds on the equipment blueprints. They asked us how we carried this out, and we replied that we conducted 100% magnetic particle testing on the outer surfaces of the A and B welds. Experts believe our understanding is inaccurate; it should be done at both the internal and external openings, or at both the inner and outer openings. But what we have been doing is only conducting tests on the external interfaces. How should I handle similar requests in the future?

Magnetic particle testing is a method for inspecting the \"surface of welds\". If the design drawings require magnetic particle testing for welds of types A and B, it is necessary to inspect both the inner and outer surfaces of the welds; testing only one side is not sufficient.
Is there a option to check only the outer surface without checking the inner one? For example, does DU4 only inspect the outer surface, while DU11 inspects both the inner and outer surfaces?
