I would like some guidance on the relationship among cold feed, saturated feed, and also the principles behind it
You are referring to the three sections of a distillation column: the middle section is the feed section, and the section below it is the stripping section. The packing layer located below the feed inlet of the column is known as the stripping section; it is used to extract the heavier components from the descending liquid, thereby concentrating them. The section above the feed section is the distillation section; the packing layer above the feed inlet of the column falls under this category. In this section, the heavier components contained in the rising vapor are transferred to the liquid phase, while the lighter components in the reflux liquid are transferred to the gas phase. As a result of such mass exchange, the concentration of light components in the rising vapor gradually increases, and the vapor that reaches the top of the tower becomes high-purity light components. The packing layer located below the feed port of the tower is called the stripping section; it is used to extract the heavier components from the descending liquid, that is, to concentrate those heavier components

For cold liquid feed, where the temperature of the feed liquid is below its bubble point, the relationship between the liquid flow rate a in the stripping section, the reflux flow rate b in the distillation section, and the feed liquid amount c is (a > b + c). Could someone explain this? I don’t understand
For bubble-point feeding, I don’t understand (a=b+c); could someone experienced explain it?
For feeding at cold night conditions, when the temperature of the feed liquid is below the bubble point, the relationship between the liquid flow rate a in the stripping section, the reflux flow rate b in the distillation section, and the feed liquid amount c is (a > b + c).
