I tried using PKS in combination with Excel’s data-exchange feature to create reports, and it was indeed very convenient and simple. But here’s the problem: there should be two ways to generate reports. One is to set a schedule for automatic generation at regular intervals, and the other is to generate a report immediately by clicking a request button. So, if one wants to view a report for a specific time period, such as the daily report from the day before, then where should this specific time be set? The method I have in mind for now is to create a separate daily report template, and then use the CM tool to set several numeric values for year, month, and day, allowing operators to enter the dates on the screen. These values are then combined in an Excel template to form the desired date, and finally, a function like GetHistVal_date is used to retrieve the value corresponding to that date: lol
Create a report directly in EXCEL and use call functions within it. The date, instrument tag number, tag parameter, and so on can be modified. There’s no need for Excel Data-Exchange; it’s quite troublesome to generate one each time.
If you have set up report generation on a periodic basis, what you need to do is use the printer connected to the system to print out the reports. If printing is not necessary, the generated reports with the default filename rpt00x should be moved to a dedicated folder (this needs to be done through a script). In this dedicated folder, the daily reports for the phone will be stored; to distinguish between the various report files, it is necessary to include the date in the file names when the script is generated. Process engineers can view the daily reports to find the desired data based on the date. The generated reports no longer contain the function “GetHistVal_date”; they only contain numerical values.
Think of data-exchange as a convenient wizard tool; once you become familiar with it, you can indeed call those functions on your own.
Could you be more specific? I’m using 430 and want to generate second-by-second data. Is it possible to have more than 1,000 data points?
I’m not sure exactly how many points it is; if there are too many, reading the data will definitely get stuck. But you can read the points separately, without putting them in one Excel file.
There’s no problem for me in retrieving data directly using Excel. But it doesn’t work when creating Excel reports in Station. Please give some advice!
Because I don’t know what your specific question is. So it cannot be analyzed in detail. However, a complete EPKS report should include the following aspects: 1. Modifying the relevant registry entries for EXCELREPORT ； 2. Activate EXCEL DATA EXCHANGE using the system administrator’s MNGR account; 3. Use the system administrator’s MNGR account to configure EXCEL, primarily by enabling macros ； 4. Use system functions in EXCEL to retrieve the relevant points with historical records, and place the EXCEL file in the REPORTS folder ； 5. Configure EXCEL REPORTS in the workstation ； 6. After the above configuration is completed, a file named RPT00X will be generated in the REPORTS folder; this file will be overwritten, so a script is needed to move it to a new folder called NEW REPORT ； 7. If it is a redundant server, the exact same settings must be applied, along with FILE REPLICATION to ensure synchronization.
