For multi-stage centrifugal pumps, what is the tolerance range for shaft bearing clearances – in the order of thousandths?
One-thousandth to one-thousandth five? Smaller, okay?
The lead compression method is used to measure the clearances; the top clearance is one thousandth of the shaft journal diameter, while the side clearance is half of the top clearance
