The composition of the bottom condensate from the demister tank of the acidic water stripping unit is relatively complex, with high levels of hydrogen sulfide and ammonia. Pipeline transportation may involve strong acid corrosion and ammonium salt crystallization. What material should be used for the pipeline under these operating conditions?
One could consider choosing steel-lined fluoroplastic. It has good corrosion resistance.
Steel weighing has temperature and pressure limitations. If the temperature is high, 316L may not be suitable either; consider 2205 duplex steel or titanium alloys.
Agree to use 2205 duplex stainless steel or titanium tubes!
316 is not suitable; it’s better to use carbon steel rather than 316. If cost is a concern, carbon steel can be used without any problems for a few years. I estimate that 316 will start to have issues after at most two years
