Production of liquid nitrogen through the nitrogen liquefaction process: This method is based on the use of nitrogen – more precisely, highly pure nitrogen with a purity of 99.999% to 99.9995%, and reportedly even 6N nitrogen. After passing through molecular sieves, a screw compressor is added to compress the nitrogen and cause it to liquefy at a temperature of 77 K (-196°C). This approach results in a significant increase in cost, by 7 to 8 times, although the purity remains unchanged. Production of liquid nitrogen via air liquefaction and separation process: This involves liquefying air and then raising the temperature to -196°C, at which point most of the other components in the air vaporize, resulting in the formation of liquid nitrogen.
