I have a question and would like help resolving it: On the top of the turbine bearing housing, there is a pipe in some areas from which oil and gas emerge, but not in other areas. What is 1. the purpose of this component? 2. What are the prerequisites for setting it up? That is, why some settings are applied while others are not (it’s determined by those parameters). When lubricating oil is used to lubricate, flush, and cool the components of the machine, it heats up and some of its light components evaporate, resulting in hot fumes. Therefore, a vent valve is necessary; furthermore, smoke recovery systems can be installed to recover this lubricating oil.
This is called a breathing cap; it’s used for the tank’s breathing system and is essential.

To keep the unit clean and hygienic, it can be drained into an oil tank, but it must not get clogged; that’s how we do it!
1. What is the purpose of setting this component? Its function is: 1. To prevent the pressure inside the bearing housing from becoming too high, which could lead to poor supply of lubricating oil ; 2. Maintain the pressure inside the bearing housing at a level that is not too low, so as to prevent moisture from the surrounding environment from entering the lubricating oil tank under negative pressure; low levels of lubricating oil can also lead to poor oil return. 2. What are the prerequisites for setting it up? That is, why some settings are applied and others are not (it’s determined by those parameters). Premise (this is just a guess and may not be correct): 1. It is usually necessary to set it, but if the load is light and the temperature of the lubricating oil does not change much, it may not be necessary to set it ; 2. For bearing housings that use sliding bearings, lubricating oil generally enters the bearing housing under pressure; in such cases, a vent is usually provided only on the oil tank, rather than on the bearing housing itself.
