Once there are issues with the Mooney index, how should it be adjusted, and what impact does it have on the products manufactured in the downstream rubber industry? For example, when using styrene-butadiene rubber to make tires, what are the requirements regarding the Mooney index? ! The Mooney index of rubber products has a significant impact on their processing and practical application. Taking HNBR as an example, there are two reasons for high Mooney viscosity: 1. Long-chain branching occurs during the hydrogenation reaction; 2. The AN (nitrile) content in the raw rubber is too high. Ways to reduce Mooney viscosity without affecting the performance parameters of other products include: 1. Softening the initial reaction conditions (the temperature should not rise too quickly or too high, and the pressure should not be too high); 2. Adding radical inhibitors to the reaction mixture; 3. Incorporating LNBR as a compounding agent (in moderation), as excessive use can affect other physical properties of the product
