The Texaco gasifier operated at high load for 70 days, when suddenly the liquid level in the gasifier rose to 80%.
Check if there is a problem with the level gauge; if not, there is likely an issue with the black water outlet pipeline – it may be blocked, or the valve stem may have fallen off, etc
It is recommended to first verify whether the liquid level is accurate by comparing the readings from remote sensors with those on-site. If the liquid level display is correct, then it can be determined whether too much water is entering or not enough is exiting.
Your sudden change is quite unexpected; if the liquid level is normal, it might be due to the burnout of the downcomer and upcomer, which leads to gas backmixing and thereby reduces the amount of water carried by the synthesizer. It can be determined by checking the pressure difference of the washer through water supply to the scrubber tower.
I think you need to check the temperature of your support plate as well as the temperature at the outlet of the scrubber tower. If there are changes in both, it is likely that there is a blockage somewhere between the rising pipe and the descending pipe, which prevents a large amount of water from the gasifier from being carried to the scrubber tower along with the raw gas. This water stays in the gasifier, causing the liquid level to keep rising. I suggest reducing the amount of cooling water discharged
Excluding the level gauge and angle valve, it is possible that there is a blockage between the downcomer and the upcomer, or that the downcomer has been burned through
The annular gap channel between the riser and the vaporizer became blocked due to scaling or other reasons over time, which caused a sudden rise in water level; we have encountered such problems as well
