No rice has been distributed for half a year; colleagues, please offer some comfort!

I work in piping at a design institute in the northwest; I haven’t received a salary since 2016. I’m at my wits’ end – the company has no projects or funds, and there are many managers but they’re useless. I thought of taking the certification exam in order to survive, but distant solutions can’t relieve immediate needs; sigh..... Is there anyone in the same situation who can offer some guidance?
Use my spare time to set up street stalls or work part-time.
Damn. So ruthless. . . . . .
If design institutes are in such a state, when will the economy improve...
We haven’t received our salaries for almost a year; we’ve retired early and stayed at home. It’s easy to find a job, but the salary is too low
I don’t understand; if there’s no work and no money, why not lay off employees? It seems the company is quite humane after all.

A chemical engineering design institute can’t be that bad, right? Although the market conditions are poor and there aren’t many new projects being launched, there are still quite a number of design projects related to technological upgrades, energy conservation, and emission reduction across various enterprises. Design institutes need to be humble and take the initiative to seek out projects in the market, especially by visiting existing clients. Through these visits and interactions, they can identify potential projects.
As for rice, I actually saw a company working on a project where the client defaulted on the contract payments, so they used some rice as payment in lieu. As a result, during holidays the company’s benefit for employees became rice. I’m drunk too.
