Should the slag cooler for waste gas, waste water, and waste solids be installed horizontally or at an angle?
There are many different types of internal structures for slag coolers. At present, for situations where the pressure of the cooling water is not very high, it is recommended to use jacketed slag coolers; whereas when the cooling water pressure is high, membrane-wall slag coolers are advised. As for the horizontal or inclined arrangement, it must be determined comprehensively in consideration of the on-site space and the maintenance space for the lower slag transfer equipment.
