The replacement of benzene tanks mainly involves proper recovery of benzene-containing gases; otherwise, it is the same as the replacement of ordinary oil tanks. Before entering the tank, it is essential to test for benzene and total hydrocarbons. Additionally, since benzene is usually found in internal floating roof tanks, it is necessary to ensure that the sealing capsules and floats are not soaked in oil before proceeding with any inspection or maintenance work. If they are damaged and soaked in oil, personal protective equipment must be worn before entering the tank to remove them, in order to prevent poisoning and flash explosions.
