Differences between metal wound gaskets in version 09 and version 97

In version HG/T20610-2009, the D-type metal wound gasket has an inner ring and a centering ring, while in the 1997 version the D-type has both an inner ring and an outer ring. In the 2009 version, the centering ring was added and the outer ring was removed; moreover, this aspect is not mentioned in the compilation instructions for the 2009 version. Could someone please provide an explanation?
I think the outer ring is used for centering, so let’s call it the centering ring! By standard, everything is implemented in accordance with the new standards
