Analyzing the quality of the incoming water, high levels of ammonia nitrogen can cause the effluent to turn yellow. Recently, our SBR system produced effluent that was yellow in color, similar to lemonade; upon inspection of the incoming water, it was found that the denitration unit had allowed ammonia to leak into the system, resulting in an ammonia nitrogen level as high as 2000 ppm.
