Could registered safety engineers be changed from a registration-based system to a competency-based one? Do you think this is a viable idea?

As the title suggests, I consulted the Work Safety Supervision Bureau, and after many evasive answers, I finally managed to get some concrete information. By the end, I felt extremely disheartened. Question: Is there any news regarding certified safety engineers at the moment? Answer: Not yet; we’re still waiting. Question: Are there any guidelines yet, such as how certified safety engineers will be managed in the future? Answer: We’re still waiting for the relevant regulations to be issued. Question: So, does that mean these regulations already exist, and certified safety engineer programs won’t be abolished? Answer: Yes, they won’t be abolished. (I felt a little relieved upon hearing this, but then…) Question: Will certified safety engineers still be considered certified professionals in the future? Answer: It might be changed to a registration-based system in the future… Registration-based… It doesn’t sound very good. I immediately searched online to find out what a registration-based system entails. After learning about the various certificates that have been changed from a certification system to a registration system over the years, I felt even more disappointed. It’s better to share one’s disappointment with others – let’s all feel sad together! Do you think such information is reliable?

Actually, there’s nothing to it. Just keep a positive attitude; I passed the exam after 10 years, and I never thought about registering for it. My initial idea was that it might be useful someday if I changed jobs, but anyway, I felt like I had already learned most of those things from books.
Registering for safety certifications is of little use; it’s better to obtain some actual useful certificates instead
