The drum of the converter has two control parameters: level and pressure. These are used to ensure good quality of the water inside the drum as well as of the medium-pressure steam produced. Within the specified range, is it better to control the drum liquid level and pressure at their high points or low points? Dear sea friends, you will get points just by participating
The quality of medium-pressure steam is not related to pressure and liquid level, but rather to the quality of the water
The liquid level should be set at an appropriate position to reduce the amount of water carried along by the saturated steam. The pressure should be at the rated value; if it’s too high, the safety valve will activate, and if it’s too low, the evaporation rate increases, and saturation may not be achieved. The temperature may not also meet the required standards
I’m not sure whether the heat in the drum is obtained through convective overheating; high pressure results in higher energy consumption, but it ensures a sufficient amount of steam production. The distribution of steam during the conversion process is stable. If the liquid level is too high, steam produced will contain water, while if it’s too low, the drum may dry out. A slightly higher liquid level helps to buy time in case there is an interruption in water supply. It’s sufficient to maintain stable control of these parameters. As for water quality, it’s important to strengthen monitoring, carry out regular drainage, control the amount of chemicals added, and conduct proper analytical tests to ensure the quality of the steam
For steam temperature, as long as the pressure is within the specified range, it’s fine; liquid level and pressure are not the main factors that matter. Good water quality is what truly counts
The steam mass is independent of pressure and liquid level; a steam pressure that is 0.3–0.5 MPa higher than that of the feed gas is sufficient, as there is no need for it to be too high. Maintain the liquid level between 40% and 60% – too low can cause the pan to dry out, while too high can result in excess liquid; the most important thing is to keep the liquid level stable.

Keep the liquid level at 50% and the pressure at 3.5 Mpa; try to increase the steam temperature, as this will raise the inlet temperature of the converter and reduce fuel consumption
