The pump outlet pressure is 48 kilograms, while the main pipe pressure is only 12 kilograms. Why is that? Is it related to the back pressure?

If there are no other check valves, shut-off valves, or similar devices between the pump outlet and the pressure measurement point in the main pipe, it is theoretically impossible! The pressure difference between the pump outlet and the main pipe, which are the two pressure measurement points, is equal to the sum of the fluid resistance and the static pressure between these two points. If there are valves involved, it means the valve is closed too tightly, or the check valve is stuck......
There is definitely a relationship between the pump outlet pressure and the pressure being applied; the main pipe may be thicker than the pipeline at the pump outlet, which results in lower pressure in the main pipe
