I just quit my job at a design institute to take the civil service exam

Those who are considering changing careers might find this useful as a reference. I regret starting my job search too late – if someone had given me advice back then, I would have switched jobs without hesitation. I followed the example of my colleagues at work who took the civil service exam. 1. Working environment: The working environment is much better than before; the office is located in the city, making daily life and meals more regular. When I was working at the design institute, I often had to travel on business; I faced all kinds of harsh working conditions. I spent every holiday on construction sites, working in temperatures ranging from minus 20 degrees to 40 degrees, and I was at the factory 24 hours a day. Just thinking about how the city folks act in a pretentious manner over the fog makes us feel pitiful; the harm we face every day is many times greater than that. 2. Work intensity: It’s basically full-time work, requiring proficiency in various tasks such as organizing meetings and writing documents. However, the scope of the work is broad but not very in-depth; it’s something that anyone with a high school or junior college education can handle, and it’s not difficult even for graduates from 985 universities. It’s busy, but the intensity isn’t high. When working on drawings in the design office, I don’t have enough intelligence to spend over ten hours a day staring at the screen and engaging in intense drawing work; it’s exhausting every day. Every night, I feel like my body is burning like a candle, and as soon as I lie down in bed, I don’t want to get up anymore. Of course, it’s the heart that’s most tired, feeling muddled every day. 3. Salary and benefits: At the beginning of my employment, my salary was lower than that in the design institute; currently it is similar to before. The target achievement bonus is higher now, while business trip expenses have decreased. 4. Long-term development: It’s been hard to get out of that tough situation, and there’s no talk of any form of development at the moment; without any connections, one can only build experience over time. Fortunately, there’s plenty of time to do many things that one enjoys. I’m currently preparing for the CPA exam
