What is the difference between a corner valve with inlet on the side and outlet at the bottom, and one with inlet at the bottom and outlet on the side? How to choose?
It’s the same as the explanation for globe valves and needle valves.
The principle remains the same whether it is side inlet and bottom outlet, or bottom inlet and side outlet for angle valves, or high inlet and low outlet, or bottom inlet and high outlet for single-seat valves
Control valves generally serve to limit flow rate, allowing fluid to flow from a lower pressure side to a higher pressure side; angle valves also function to reduce pressure on either side. I’ve never seen a valve that allows fluid to flow from the lower pressure side to the higher pressure side – you’ll need to ask the instrumentation specialists for more details
