Do you know that adding water to the coking distillation tower can lower the pH value?

The pH of the sulfur-containing wastewater from the oil-gas separator at the top of the distillation tower in the plant’s coking unit is a bit too high to meet the requirements set by headquarters; it is planned to lower this pH value to 8.5 by injecting water into the oil-gas line at the top of the tower. Does anyone here know anything about this? How is the water injection volume calculated? Thank you! Help needed
Testing, yeah. Take a water sample every day and test its pH level in order to adjust the amount of water injected
Is a neutralizing and corrosion-inhibiting agent added to the top of your tower? There are likely many organic amine components in it. You can contact the manufacturer to use less of this neutralizing component, which will help lower the pH value
