Is there a standard for how many turns the valve handle needs to be turned to achieve a certain degree of opening, regardless of the valve size?
Refer to the control valve: the opening degree is proportional to the stem lift (the number of turns of the handle)
The opening degree of the gate valve and the height of the gate plate are distinct, but the flow regulation is poorly linear. Ball valves are quite particular – one has to look at their flow characteristic curve!
