Distance between storage tank and busbar is relevant

For liquefied natural gas, there is a manifold near the storage tank; its function is to unload the natural gas from the tank truck. However, no specific distance requirements can be found in the building codes. Someone told me that no such distance requirements exist. What I would like to ask is: 1) Is there any safety risk if the distance is too short? 2) Can the busbar meet the distance requirements specified in the building codes for pipes? In this case, have the requirements been raised or lowered?
