The outlet pressure of the hot oil pump in the heat transfer oil furnace is insufficient, which affects production; therefore, operations have been halted for inspection and repair. It is possible that there is debris blocking the impeller of the hot oil pump, or that the filter is clogged. First, the hot oil pump was taken apart – there were no issues. Then the filter was removed, and it turned out to be partially clogged. While cleaning up the trash, a piece of iron was found, which appeared to be the gate plate of a gate valve; it was later determined to be the gate plate of a DN65 gate valve. Where did the faulty gate come from? Is it from the inlet and outlet valves of the oil equipment, or was it left over during installation? No abnormalities were found in the oil-using equipment during production; the equipment’s oil inlet valve was always open and controlled by an oil return valve. If the gate of the oil return valve failed, it would cause problems in production. Therefore, all the oil return valves were checked, and they were all in good condition. The valve of the internal coil was also intact, but one of the valves for oil supply to the jacket did not have a gate. Strangely enough, the heat transfer oil flows from below to above; when the gate valve enters the jacket, it settles at the bottom. So how can it rise to reach the return valve and then flow through the pipes to the filter? I’ve thought about this for years without being able to figure it out.
