What are the principles and sealing structures of double-end face seals and tandem seals in the mechanical seals of centrifugal pumps? What are the working principle and functions of the seal oil tank as well? Thank you!
1. Double-end face sealing: Two sets of seals are installed face to face or back to back. It is used in situations where the working medium is toxic, flammable, explosive, volatile, crystalline, exists at high or low temperatures, or involves gases or high vacuum conditions. A sealed chamber is formed between the two sets of seals, and a sealing fluid is introduced into this chamber: for sealing, lubrication, and cooling purposes; a sealing fluid with good purity and lubricity should be selected. 2. Series mechanical seal: Two sets of seals are arranged in the same direction, with the pressure in the sealing chambers decreasing step by step; it is used in high-pressure applications.
