Is it better to measure with the inlet gauge for heat exchangers, or with the outlet gauge? Is there any difference? Which method offers a higher line speed?
It is likely that the flow rate at the outlet is good; the high line speed entering the heat exchanger reduces the residence time, thereby minimizing the tendency to scale formation. However, on-site operation mainly relies on auxiliary lines to adjust the flow rate and heat exchange efficiency, with the opening degrees of the inlet and outlet being roughly the same.
