1. Large-scale air separation will still be used in a few specific industries, such as steel and the chemical industry. In recent years, supply-side reform has mainly focused on reducing overcapacity, so there won’t be many new projects launched. The aromatic compounds project might be better. There is no hope for coal-to-oil or coal-to-gas processes; ethylene glycol projects yield little practical result and involve high risks. 2. The most popular applications for small-scale air separation systems at the moment are lithium battery materials, followed by the electronics industry; however, the supply of electronic gases is largely monopolized by multinational giants. . .
I think the air separation industry should start developing the production of rare gases, which might bring more optimism for its future.
