Three situations in which a diversion shroud is required for submersible motors: 1. Excessively wide well diameter – When the diameter of the water well is too large, the fluid flowing over the surface of the motor does not reach the minimum flow velocity required by the motor, hence a diversion shroud is necessary. II. Top-fed water supply If the water well uses a top-fed water supply system, the motor does not receive cooling, and it is necessary to install shrouds. III. Open water If the water pump is installed in a tank or in open water, a guide vane needs to be added.
