It is understood that almost all polyester production lines pay close attention to the esterification rate, which is generally determined through laboratory analysis; however, this method has the drawback of a time lag. If it is possible to conduct online detection of the esterification rate, do you think it would be useful as a guide for production?
Laboratory testing also involves sampling, analysis, and the generation of results, which takes time and leads to delays; it also requires human and material resources. Online detection enables real-time monitoring, avoiding time delays and saving manpower and resources.
Looking at the OP’s signature, it seems like the OP should be able to do this? Could you send some introductory materials briefly?
I vaguely remember the Gemma process device; back then university teachers developed a tool for online calculation of the esterification rate. I can’t recall whether it was based on density or something else, but these days such things are much simpler – online infrared spectroscopy is very useful for this purpose

Currently, the esterification degree is determined by testing the acid value through sampling; however, by installing instruments along the outlet pipeline of the esterification reaction to directly measure the acid value content in the melt, it should be possible to carry out online monitoring
We are all stable, and the esterification rate can be well controlled through molar ratio, temperature, and vacuum level
I think in the early stages of driving a plant, using online monitoring might be useful, as the residence time in the esterification reactor cannot be controlled; having relevant metrics can provide better guidance.
