Could some expert please advise me on what type of valve is generally used as the primary valve associated with pressure gauge instruments? Should the valve type be a flanged valve or one that is welded directly? Or threads – what is the range of options available for the primary valve on instruments? Urgent, need expert advice! ! !
If it’s a US standard valve, what is the weight in pounds? Thank you
The last edit to this post was made by ylb913 on 2016-12-3 at 13:06. Speaking of national standards, even under normal pressure conditions, a pressure of 16 MPa is used; higher values I’ve seen are 32 MPa.
I’ve mainly encountered ball valves; there are also globe valves for pipes with smaller diameters. The valves are not welded directly; you choose either threads or flanges, and then weld the relevant components to the pressure-taking container. You’ll understand this issue if you use a sample from Locke.
Regarding the primary valves on the instruments, two key points to note: 1. The connection method – flange or welding is acceptable in either case. 2. Gate valves or globe valves can be used; ball valves are not permitted, remember this!
