1. How is venting handled on ethylene oxide pipelines, such as for control valves and pumps? Is it discharged directly to the outside or in a sealed manner? 2. The safety issue related to ethylene oxide leaking into the underground pipes of the water dilution tank: despite the presence of spray water, it is not possible to ensure that a safe concentration is always maintained within the pipes. There are other safety measures related to EO as well; please share your opinions

Since EO is different from other flammable materials, the method you mentioned poses safety risks. Is this how EO handles actual situations, or do you think it should be handled in that way?
In fact, we don’t completely remove the ethylene oxide; unless the pipes are emptied and cleaned, first purging them with nitrogen before rinsing them with water, the remaining amount will end up in the rinse water. Adding acid or base to water increases the absorption of ethylene oxide; low-concentration ethylene glycol aqueous solutions pose little hazard. Of course, these are just my opinions, representing my personal view.
