As the title suggests, there is a centrifugal pump in our unit that trips due to overflow roughly once a month. We remove the pump and clean the carbon deposits on the impeller, but the problem of overflow occurs again after a month. Over and over again. The thickest layer of carbon deposition is about 0.5 mm. The centrifugal pump is single-stage; could carbon deposition and scaling on the impeller be the cause of excessive flow? Please provide an analysis.

I tell you, definitely, for sure, absolutely—no denial, no rejection, just a firm refusal! The main issue is that if the water quality deteriorates, it’s important to monitor it; appropriate actions must be taken, otherwise the pump will eventually become unusable. If it’s a water ring vacuum pump, it won’t be able to create a vacuum at all.
The carbon buildup on the impeller increases its weight; assuming that the properties of the fluid flowing through it and the flow rate remain constant, more mechanical work will be required, which in turn leads to an increase in current~~
It is possible to consider coating the impeller with a polymer coating, which can prevent scale accumulation as well as resist cavitation.
