For example, saturated water vapor at 0.3 MPa (143 degrees) is compressed to 0.4 MPa. Is this process an isenthalpic process? Is the compressed .4mpa steam subcooled steam, with a temperature of 143 degrees still?
Most of the shaft power of the compressor is transferred to the steam, turning into internal energy; as a result, the temperature rises, usually to a level that is somewhat above the normal value!
