Is it necessary to install blind flanges in front of traditional concrete chimneys in catalytic cracking units? After the construction of a certain catalytic cracking unit was completed, the owner requested that blind flanges be installed in front of the conventional concrete chimney. Flue damper valves and water seal tanks had already been installed in the process, ensuring that flue gases would not leak into the conventional concrete chimney. Due to the large scale of the equipment and the large diameter of the flue pipes, adding blind plates might affect the wall thickness of these pipes as well as the spring supports, and it would also make inspection and maintenance inconvenient, requiring the installation of specialized facilities.
