Our company has installed a stepless volume control system for the compressor. After its installation, vibration occurred in the compressor’s intake pipeline; however, the most noticeable vibration was seen in another section of the pipeline, namely at the starting point of the entire compressor supply pipeline, with the vibration propagating along the length of the pipeline. We previously strengthened the pipeline, which reduced the vibration there, but it caused increased vibration in the frames and platforms connected to the pipeline. We are now planning to further strengthen the pipeline. Please share your opinions – are there any good solutions?
Stepless air volume adjustment should be relatively smooth. There might be a problem with the unloading valve; it’s worth checking. If the unloading valve isn’t installed properly, it can cause extreme vibrations. You can consult the manufacturer of the stepless air volume control system
Polarless gas volume control means that during compression, a certain amount of gas (determined based on the load being processed) flows back from the inlet valve of the cylinder to the buffer tank system at the entrance of the reciprocating machine; resonance can occur easily in such reciprocating machine systems. Therefore, the phenomenon you are describing is normal; it is possible to continue reinforcing the pipelines and supports, etc., until the vibration frequency is changed so that resonance no longer occurs, and then there will be no problem. Or you could find an expert in vibration analysis; with a simple measurement, solutions can be found right away, but the cost is high, and it’s actually not necessary.

It is likely caused by resonance; this can be eliminated by adding pipe supports for fixation.
Have you resolved the issue? On our end, the system operates very stably when no adjustments are made; however, once the variable air volume system is adjusted to 70%, the pipeline connected to the inlet starts vibrating.

Is a orifice plate to be installed at the outlet of the source separation tank? We have already installed orifice plates on the buffer tank at the compressor inlet; now, the area where the air source comes from experiences quite significant vibration. It’s similar to what the original poster described.
