I would like to ask the experts: when keeping a ledger for equipment, should it be done on a per-device basis, or only for entire sets of equipment or systems?
Register each unit one by one, taking the device or system as a unit
It can be listed as a complete set of devices or systems; it’s best to detail all the equipment included within it...
If we break down the devices further, should we count the number of units or the number of devices in the end?
For example, in the case of a chemical dosing unit, there is a chemical dosing tank, an agitator, and two metering pumps – these make up one set of equipment; are they 3 devices in total?
Another example is the compression unit, which includes a compressor, a steam turbine, two sets of light oil stations (each light oil station containing two oil pumps), two condensate pumps, a condenser, various stages of separators, coolers, an inlet buffer, an exhaust buffer, etc. When tallying the total number of devices, is it also based on the individual count of each device?
Organize by system or unit, and by individual device.
Skid-mounted equipment can be counted as a complete set； The units are also statistically analyzed as a whole, but the parameter information of each individual device that makes up the unit must be detailed separately.
