The diameter at the junction point is 426; the distance from the center of the opening to the weld between the cylinder and the head is 400. The reinforcement length on the shorter side is only 180, which differs from the ideal 2DOP reinforcement range. How should this be taken into account in the SW6 calculations, or should it be ignored?
What is compensated for is the circumferential stress; the axial stress is not taken into account
This calculation probably can’t reflect it! It seems there will only be pass or fail!
The reinforcement range cannot exceed 2dop; it can be less than 2dop as well, as long as it complies with the reinforcement rules and the calculations are valid.
It is up to the designer to determine whether the reinforcement range exceeds the limits in SW6 based on the calculations performed. The software is not yet smart enough to make automatic judgments.
SW6 cannot reflect this; the outer diameter of the nozzle is 426. The distance from the center line of the nozzle to the welds on the cylinder and the head is 400, and adding the straight edge length of 25 gives 425, which essentially meets the reinforcement requirement of 2dop as specified in GB150. The circumferential welds of the nozzle accessories must be subject to radiographic inspection. :)
It’s not understood that way, right? It’s the excess metal within the 2DOP range that is used for reinforcement; if it’s less than 2DOP, it means the reinforcement area is insufficient. SW6 is calculated based on the excess metal within the 2DOP range.
If the takeover can still be made strong enough without using a reinforcement ring, then there’s no need to worry about it; if a reinforcement ring is used, it must be one with a strength rating of less than 400. The reinforcement area to be considered should definitely be the actual area, and that’s sufficient. The weld bead must cover the weld seam completely, and X-ray inspections must be carried out as required.
The reinforcement area must be based on the actual area; that’s sufficient.
