Let’s start with coke. If you can distinguish between the coke at the outlet end, the front part of the coke, the middle part, and the rear part, you will be able to determine the position of the coke within the cross-section of the carbonization chamber, which will help you understand horizontal and vertical cracks.
If the burner is burnt, it’s easy to tell; one that looks like cauliflower indicates a burnt burner. As for horizontal and vertical cracks, it is theoretically known that those perpendicular to the furnace wall are vertical cracks, while those parallel to the furnace wall are horizontal cracks. However, it is not clear how the coke is arranged within the carbonization chamber, so it is impossible to determine whether they are horizontal or vertical.
Under normal circumstances, it is easier to distinguish between longitudinal and transverse cracks in coke on the coking table; after screening, some coke is easy to identify in terms of these cracks, while others are not so easy to identify.
