A rainwater collection system consisting of 1 small tank and 1 large tank. The top of the small tank is sealed, while the large tank has an open top. The bottoms of the two tanks are connected to each other. It is necessary to create a vacuum at the top of the small tank in order to raise the water level in it to about 4 meters above that in the large tank. Once the large tank is empty, the vacuum is removed from the small tank, and the water from the small tank is used to flush the bottom of the large tank. There is definitely some water vapor from natural evaporation in the space above the small pool; what type of vacuum pump should be used? There are no water sources in the vicinity; if a water ring pump is used, can rainwater be used as a source of water for replenishment? If that doesn’t work, what type of pump should be used? Are additional devices required?
Your water ring and jet vacuum options can both meet the requirements; if this small tank is small enough, that’s fine, but if it’s too large, it will take a long time to evacuate the air from it
Also, as long as the conditions on site are met—for example, if all the connected areas are at the lowest point of the two tanks—you can proceed in this way. However, it’s not possible to fill the tanks completely, because doing so would break the vacuum when the tanks are connected. Moreover, to achieve a strong scouring force, it is necessary to have a high water level and a large volume of water; if it’s just a small pond, I doubt that the scouring force will be sufficient to meet your requirements

Actually, I didn’t explain it clearly enough: at the connection point at the bottom, on the side of the large tank, there is a water baffle that is higher than the connecting pipe, serving as a water seal; so there should be no problem with draining water from the large tank. The problem with the water ring is the lack of a water source; it’s not clear whether rainwater can be used as a supplementary source. Jet pumps suffer from poor stability; is there a vacuum pump that is more suitable for such operating conditions?
There’s no major issue with the spraying, and the water ring is fine as well; it’s not like you use it constantly, so the water temperature doesn’t rise. Even if there’s some water loss, just use a bucket to collect and add more water
Find a shaded place to place the vacuum pump’s water tank there in order to reduce evaporation during the summer.
Why do you need to use a vacuum pump? Wouldn’t it be sufficient to simply use a self-priming pump along with a level control mechanism? A pool that big – is it really feasible to evacuate it?

It’s not large; the small pond has only a few dozen cubic meters of volume. Can a self-priming pump be used as a vacuum pump?
