Is the circulation volume of the forced circulation pump in a rainbow reboiler roughly equal to about 3 percent of the tower’s processing capacity? I would appreciate some guidance from those with more experience
No, with such low evaporation rates, it’s difficult to maintain the load on the tower. Forced circulation is mainly used in applications involving high viscosity, heat sensitivity, or a tendency to form scale; therefore, a higher flow rate within the pipes is required, the circulation volume must be greater than that in heat-siphon systems, and the vaporization rate at the outlet is also lower compared to heat-siphon systems. The vaporization rate at the outlet for thermal siphon systems can reach 30%, while that for forced circulation systems generally does not exceed 15%.
